Andy Smith, CCIM, Broker/Owner of Peabody & Smith Realty was named the Business Leader of the Year by the Littleton Area Chamber of Commerce.
Smith was nominated for the award by Mike Claflin of Connecticut River Bank, and by his fellow brokers/staff at Peabody & Smith. During the award presentation, presenter Mike Claflin said, "Some people are fortunate to have jobs which they are very successful at, but in the process have an opportunity to really make an impact on their community. These are the people that not only do a good job, but they truly make a difference. Our recipient has not only exhibited the qualities of leadership in his many different businesses, and demonstrated any number of significant achievements this honor requires, but he has done it with compassion and a genuine sense of responsibility. I think you will agree that in today's world this combination is unfortunately unique, rather than the norm." Claflin went on to give a biography of Andy, describing the early days when he came to Littleton in his early 20's and owned a motorcycle dealership.
During the nomination process, the Peabody & Smith staff said, "Overall, we think Andy Smith is the 2007 Business Leader of the Year. He is generous and kind to all he meets, and he cares greatly about the greater Littleton area. Whether or not he receives this award, he is a business leader that we are proud to work for and with."
