Peabody & Smith Realty Recognizes Agents & Staff at Annual Award Breakfast
Plymouth, NH – Peabody & Smith Realty held their Annual Award & Recognition breakfast at the Common Man Inn & Spa in Plymouth NH. The breakfast featured a number of awards, and over 20 of the firms agents were recognized for a variety of achievements.
In 2013, Peabody & Smith Realty recorded gross sales in excess of 94 million dollars, according to statistics from the Northern New England Real Estate Network. This sales achievement marked a 42% increase in gross sales over 2012.

The Peabody & Smith Realty Residential Sales Associate of 2013 was awarded to Michele Penner, Managing Broker in their Bretton Woods, NH office. Penner and her husband Terry joined Peabody & Smith Realty after selling their wholesale business in the southern part of the state. They have owned a home in Bretton Woods since 1996. In 2008, Penner received her broker’s license and earned the GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute) and SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist) and ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) designations. In 2009, she earned both the RSPS (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist) and the GREEN designation. In 2012 Michele received the highly coveted CRS (Certified Residential Specialist) designation. Michele has extensive knowledge of the Bretton Woods market and a proven ability to help both buyers and sellers through the process.

Burns Earns CBR and GRI Designations
Plymouth, NH – Carmen Burns, a Sales Associate at Peabody & Smith Realty in Plymouth recently completed two intensive programs to further her ability in assisting real estate sellers and buyers.
Burns was awarded the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) designation after completing 96 hours of classroom instruction dealing with the residential real estate industry.
In earning her GRI designation, she was required to complete eight learning modules covering a range of subject matter including contract law, professional standards, sales and marketing, finance, and risk reduction. In addition, she learned about other areas of real estate specialization in classes that were taught by leading real estate professionals from around the country.
In addition, Burns also earned the CBR designation when she successfully completed the Certified Buyer Representative program. This means she is formally trained in the professional representation of home purchasers.
Buyer Representative is a cooperating agent who legally represents the real estate buyer. They generally do so under a buyer representation agreement, much like a traditional real estate broker represents the seller under a listing agreement. The buyer agent’s role is to be the advocate for the purchaser in the real estate transaction. Burns completed three full days of extensive training to earn the CBR Designation.

Large Office Complex in Littleton NH Sold
Littleton, NH – A large commercial office complex on Cottage Street in Littleton recently changed ownership. The building, known as Mt. Eustis Commons, located at 260-262 Cottage Street was sold to AHEAD, Inc., a non-profit organization whose mission is to be the premier provider of quality affordable rental housing, financial education, and homeownership opportunities in northern New Hampshire.
Mt. Eustis Commons is a multi tenanted professional office building containing 63,000 square feet, of which 47,000 square feet are rentable for commercial use. The building was formerly used as the local hospital and was made into two condo units almost a decade ago. Currently the other part of complex is home to the Beattie House, an affordable housing complex for seniors owned by AHEAD.
AHEAD’s Executive Director Mike Claflin said, “For AHEAD, this purchase will give our growing organization considerably more office space and will greatly reduce our overhead costs, and allow us to deliver our services much more efficiently. Since 2008, AHEAD’s operating budget has more than doubled and the organization has grown from 7 full-time employees to 26.”
